General Manager / Sales Manager

MBS Radio is growing, and we’re looking for a driven, community-minded leader to take the reins as General Manager/Sales Manager for AVR (CKEN) and Magic 94.9 (CKWM), serving the Annapolis Valley.
This isn’t a maintenance role. It’s a builder’s role. You’ll have the autonomy to develop your team, deepen client relationships, and plant MBS Radio firmly at the centre of the communities we serve. If you thrive where strategy meets people, and where no two days look the same, keep reading.
What You’ll Do
- Lead day-to-day station operations with an eye on both culture and performance
- Build and execute sales strategies that grow revenue and deliver real results for clients
- Coach, mentor, and motivate your sales team — celebrating wins and solving problems together
- Cultivate lasting relationships with local businesses, agencies, and community partners
- Track the numbers, report to senior leadership, and stay ahead of market trends
- Work cross-functionally to keep all departments moving in the same direction
What You Bring
- Proven leadership in sales management — you’ve built teams and hit targets
- Sharp analytical instincts paired with strong interpersonal skills
- Comfort with CRM tools, financial forecasting, and budget ownership
- A genuine passion for local community and local business
- Media or broadcasting experience is an asset, not a requirement
- Relevant sales or management certifications are a plus
