Maritime owned and operated
MBS Radio is a locally owned and operated group of 24 radio stations across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Our portfolio of products include on-air advertising, live on location broadcasts, digital platforms including websites, streamers and social media as well as strategic event promotion and above all, creative marketing solutions.
MBS Radio in the community
MBS radio stations reflect the communities we serve. Radio is immediate. We have covered disasters like the Swissair crash outside of Halifax with live, continuous broadcasting (including all night) on both of our Halifax radio stations. We had reporters on scene, witness and rescue interviews and even responded to dozens of media inquiries from around the world at the same time. We were on-air with radio stations from Japan to the UK during this event.
We supplied the same kind of coverage during Hurricane Juan, but we took it a step further as we live in the same communities that were impacted. With the devastation across Nova Scotia and PEI, MBS launched a fundraising campaign for the restoration of the famous Halifax Public Gardens. We started the radiothon off with our own contribution of $100,000. We raised over 1 million dollars for this restoration.
We have helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for local, community charities. In just the past year, we have participated in numerous fundraising initiatives including:
|Moncton||IWK Children’s Hospital radiothon raised $86,392.|
|PEI||Prince County Hospital Foundation raised $244,682.|
|Cape Breton||Wish Upon A Purse for Children’s Wish raised $5000.|
|Halifax||Toy Drive (cash and toy value combined) raised $20,000.|
